PIEBENCH privacy policy

PIEBENCH is operated by MindPress Technologies ("we"). This policy covers the PIEBENCH website, the web console and the Scout Android app. It is written for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Who controls your data

PIEBENCH is used by companies (AMISPs, installation agencies, DISCOMs). When your employer or client uses PIEBENCH, that company decides what is collected and why, and we process the data on its behalf. If you are a field worker or a consumer, ask that company first; we will help them answer you.

For data about our own customers (the people who sign up, pay and contact us), we decide how it is used.

What we collect

• Account details. Name, email, phone number, role and team. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
• Attendance. A selfie at check-in and check-out, and the time and place it was taken.
• Location while on duty. Scout records GPS location pings while a worker is checked in for duty, to show live tracking and flag workers who stay in one place. Pings are kept for 90 days by default; your company can change this.
• Field work. The forms crews fill in, including photos, meter and seal numbers, readings, barcodes and GPS positions of each job.
• Consumer records. Service points, consumer names, account numbers and addresses that your company imports or syncs from its billing, HES or MDM systems.
• Billing. Company name, billing country, GSTIN and phone number. Card and UPI details are handled by Razorpay; we never see or store them.
• Technical data. IP address (used to pick a default currency and to protect the service), device and browser details, and error logs.

Why we use it

To run the service your company signed up for: assign and record field work, verify installations, track attendance, sync data to your systems, bill your company, send account emails, keep the service secure and fix errors. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Who processes it for us

• DigitalOcean: servers and databases, in Bangalore, India.
• Cloudflare: website delivery and file storage (photos and selfies).
• Razorpay: payments.
• Google: sign-in, when you choose "Sign in with Google".
• Sentry: error reports, so we can fix bugs.
• Anthropic (Claude API): when someone uses AI-assisted field mapping in Connectorly, the field names and sample values of the connected system are sent to suggest mappings.

We also send data to the HES, MDM, billing or other systems your company connects, as your company configures.

How long we keep it

We keep your company's data while it has an account. Location pings are deleted after 90 days by default. Trial accounts that are not upgraded are warned by email and then deleted. When a paid account closes, we delete its data on request.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email services@piebench.com. If your data belongs to a company using PIEBENCH, we will pass your request to them. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access inside a company is limited by seven roles, and every action is recorded in an audit trail.
